Giving

Giving is my love language. It is how I show love to others and serve them. It is one of the few characteristics I get from BOTH of my parents. BOTH of my parents have always been huge givers, and both have servants’ hearts. Giving has always been close to my heart because of them—whether it’s time, support, or even just a listening ear, I find joy in making a difference and just trying to uplift someone with a word or act of encouragement. As a working mom, it’s easy to get caught up in the chaos of daily life, but taking the time to give, even in small ways, brings me a sense of purpose. Whether I’m volunteering, helping a neighbor, or simply offering encouragement to a fellow mom, giving is my way of spreading positivity. It reminds me that even in the hustle and bustle, we can all make the world a little brighter. So, if you ever feel overwhelmed, remember that the act of giving, big or small, can fill you up in ways you might not expect. My granny always told me, “If you’re gonna have a pity party, don’t invite me.” When I do get to feeling sorry for myself, the fastest way to get out of my funk is to focus on helping someone else because “someone always has it better, but most have it worse.”
